Lots of good bee information at this site about the Great Sunflower Project, including a map of 2010 data.
This group is also organizing two other Citizen Science projects:
-Tracking Allergy Agents
-Spotting Seasonal Changes
Both projects use calibration plants as indicators for the studies. I think we have alfalfa for the allergy study and Virginia strawberry and western wheatgrass for the season spotting. Looks like fun!
And how about this hilarious movie about bees: "Queen of the Sun: What Are Bees Telling Us?"
Ok, the one beekeeper guy in the trailer from 11 seconds to 20 seconds in, with the German accent, is too much, brushing a tray of bees with his moustache, "and they like." Otherwise doesn't look like a knee slapper, but still can't wait to see it.
