Sun Setting On Our Field, by Rainer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How
Did the rose
Ever open its heart
And give this world
All its
Beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being,
Otherwise,
We all remain
Too
Frightened
New front yard solution: raspberry arc, with a hay bale windbreak. Never mowed, never will.
He just figured out he can climb this Japanese red plum tree.
Note impossible to distinguish stalks of wild rose, curly willow, a poplar and hedging. And we're kittysitting. To the right mostly out of sight is a row that has had every single plant eaten by gophers. Garlic, fava beans, sunflowers. Potatoes are the latest offering.
