Sun Setting On Our Field, by Rainer

How
Did the rose
Ever open its heart

And give this world
All its
Beauty?

It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being,

Otherwise,
We all remain

Too

Frightened

Bloom Day Tour With Frida Rose, April 16, 2009

Geraniums

Wild onions from Siena's house wrapped in a blanket, calendula, and other nameless color

California poppy, as usual

Poppies from last fall, growing all winter and finally blooming

Current currant

Buttercup

Always borage, too

Exciting new find: "orange cuties", also known as scarlet pimpernel (thanks Melissa!)

Blueberries by pinky point

Wild radishes all over

Pansey boot shot

What is this creeping weed in the overgrown greenhouse?
So common but we don't know its name and have never noticed it blooming before. Update: now we know it is alfalfa. Nice to have a botanist like Melissa reading this blog and helping us with names.

Hi Kris! Great photos and what a great habitat you're creating! The "orange cuties" are actually called "scarlet pimpernel" (Anagallis arvensis) and the creeping greenhouse weed is an alfalfa (Medicago sp.).
Yay for flowers!
