Sun Setting On Our Field, by Rainer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How
Did the rose
Ever open its heart
And give this world
All its
Beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being,
Otherwise,
We all remain
Too
Frightened
Anthony and Jody's Yard
Next door to us live Anthony, Jody and their children and animals.
Many birds nest in their trees. There's Zak on the bench.
These, the tallest trees nearest to us, have crows living in them.
With all the trees Anthony and Jody have planted, like the ones behind her, and the huge hedge that separates our yards, we've got a nice little haven for neighborhood wildlife. Together with Rose and Keith, who keep bees and have a young orchard started, a little ecosystem is thriving.
